Suspicious Package

This was the developing news story this morning:
http://www.pennlive.com/midstate/index.ssf/2008/04/police_probe_suspicious_packag.html

When I heard it on the radio, it seemed reasonable. There could be anything in what was claimed to be a "suspicious package" - better safe than sorry, right? If you look at the picture of the "package", to the only moderately-trained eye, anyone who ever played an instrument, or anyone who knew anyone who was in a band, it is rather obviously a musical instrument case. I don't know if I would have guessed trumpet, but I certainly wouldn't have had to X-Ray it to figure it out.

I wonder how the kid is doing that left it there. Either he's being hailed a hero for his forgetfulness (after all, who doesn't like a 2 hour delay?) or the first and fourth graders who had to postpone their field trips for today will be waiting for him on the playground during recess.

Whichever, I think everyone is just glad it's Friday.

Slightly sad and pathetic! Elementary schools are becoming airports. "Do not leave any packages unattended or they will be confiscated and possibly destroyed by airport security..." Blah.
