Quote & Poll of the Day

Death tugs at my ear and says, "Live, I am coming."
-Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr., poet, novelist, essayist, and physician (1809-1894)

(Today, the poll and the quote actually have to do with each other)

Are you "living like you're dying"?

I read that quote about five times as "live" like "alive" and I kept thinking, this is the worst quote ever. It makes no sense.

I make no sense.

Yeah, it's phrased weird. I agree.

I did live like I was dying...in my early 20's. I partied like it was 1999 (which it was for a year in that timeframe), spent student loan cash like it grew on trees, drank like it was going out of style, and lived life like there was no tomorrow.

So now I can't because I'm paying that all back.

I think Prince hyped up the 1999 thing a little too much. I spent the last day of 1999 with a lummox and George Carlin. True story.

I spent it with my roommates (it was my senior year of college) in St. Paul. We didn't have a TV so we listened to the countdown on NPR (the announcer was a typical mellow NPR announcer, he must have drawn the short straw to work that night, He just said "five...four...three...two...one...welcome to the year 2000. Now, BBC's The World..."

No alcohol, either. That was a surprise, but we still all had a great time.

If you live like you're dying, you may in fact die!

I think that some people may use this philosophy to justify lack of responsibility. In other words, I'm a stick in the mud.

I think you can live like everyday might be your last without being reckless. I think the most important things are to let everyone know how much you love them and how important they are to you. And to also live with as little regret as possible.

Yes, I believe you can. And aren't we all dying anyway? But I still like to live like tomorrow matters.

I'm honestly not trying to give you a hard time. :P

That was probably not meant as dirty, but that is the first thing I thought. :-(

Mud is dirty by nature. Mud can't help it.

I said sometimes, because I sort of do, but I don't do it on purpose.

This is the most ambiguous statement I have ever read. Maybe kinda sorta.

My middle name is ambiguous! Or it should be. I've always had that problem. With papers in school, and with work now. I think ultimatetly I'm afraid to commit even to a sentence or an opinion.

How much for three sentences? Although, I don't pay. So I guess it doesn't matter. ;)
