I express my neuroses in other ways.

Everyone I know likes it in the front, but I'm a back person. I only fix toilet paper orientation when it's in my bathroom.

I don't change it at other people's houses, as a rule, but I do change it in public. Because I'm insane.

I am the same way, unless it's at one particular friend's house, because we do it to each other.

I hang it "backwards" occasionally when people leave it empty and piss me off (coincidentaly the same people who rant and rave when it's left empty for them)

I typically like it in the front, though I do know some people who prefer it in the back!

...Sorry. Had to. :-p

As am I. If I'm at a friend's house, I'll switch it. I'm crazy like that.

I like it hanging down the front for two reasons... One, it was always that way as I was growing up, so the other way just seemed wrong. Two, I don't like the idea of the loose end hanging down so close to the wall, which is probably covered in all sorts of invisible stuff I wouldn't want touching my TP. (I realize the roll itself is as close to the wall as the part that hangs down, but it's the exposed wall BELOW the holder that concerns me more, when there are like 2 or more squares hanging down near it.) It's even more gross if the TP is hanging so close to the wall that I can't grasp it without touching the wall.

This probably makes me sound like I have OCD about cleanliness, but I don't. Or at least, I only have the thoughts, being conscious of where germs might be, but not compulsive actions from them. Stop looking at me that way! :)

We had heating registers along the wall under the toilet paper holder, so having it hang over the front was much safer.

...another good reason. :)

Speaking of heating registers (forced-air, at least), sometimes if they're nearby they'll blow the loose end of the toilet paper around, increasing the chances it will touch the wall if it's mounted that way.

Adam says I should add this:

When I accidentally take too much paper off the roll, I tear off what I don't need from that and put the extra sheet or two back on top of the roll for later use. Usually it's one little square sitting on top of the roll.

Conservation is important!

...

I am insane.

(Unfortunately, if it's not me that uses the bathroom next, the next person--AKA.Adam--just throws that little square out.)

Foiled again!

I do that, too! I don't know what happens to the extra sheets. It usually happens at my parent's house where I accidentally take twice as much because they have really nice toilet paper. :-P
