I think it depends on context for me, but when I say it in my head, "I just ____" then my brain says, "finished" first.

Unless it's a project that you work at in increments. I consider things finished.

I am taking poetic license and assuming you mean in a work environment, in which case completed.

I guess I tend to think of finished as more temporary. Wait until I've finished this chapter... However... Wait until I've completed the book.

I think that I use "finished" in almost all cases.

I totally depends on the context for me, and sometimes my mood.

Like, I finished reading a book, watching a movie, painting a wall, but I completed a project or developing a web application. I generally finish a video game, but sometimes I complete it.

I'm with everyone else: depends on the context for me. Tend to use finished the most though =)
