Most of the blogs I read revolve around the personal finance world. However, the two blogs I am going to feature today are the only two blogs that I read that are all about interior design and furniture. Here we go....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ikea Hacker is a blog that combines 2 of my favorite things - Ikea & making something out of something else. Some of the hacks posted are really more of an arty thing, some are quick, easy projects that anyone could do, and some are all about making something that you just couldn't find anywhere else. This one has got to be my favorite, though - even if it doesn't use much that is specifically "ikea-esk".
The Inspired Room is written by Melissa Michaels who is an interior design consultant by trade. In every blog post, she incorporates dozens of photos from magazines and from around the web. Even though every picture might not be my style, I tend to be inspired by at least one or two details. She talks about her family, her recent move, and her love for small cottages on her blog.
17th-Dec-2008 01:25 pm - Blog Spotlight: Stuff Christians Like
blogging
Stuff Christians Like is written by Prodigal Jon who has a self-titled blog in addition to Stuff Christians Like and also participates on a few others. This is one of the blogs that I haven't been following for all that long, but it seems like at least once a week (sometimes multiple times), he posts something that I want to pass on. So far, my brother and sister have been seeing a lot of this guy in their inboxes.
A big part of this blog is Christianity and focusing on Christ and the bible. Just last week, he did a great post about faith being inconvenient. This was a serious post, with a few joke-y things mixed in. Most of the time, it's the other way around, though.
Some of my favorites lately have been a post about what happens when you hand out fire on Christmas Eve, Claiming songs from the '80s for Jesus, How Christian is your cubical?, People who use their iPhones during church, Pretending to like C.S. Lewis, and How Christmawesome is your Christmas Sweater?
I will tell you right now that you will laugh out loud. Especially at the first one. If you have ever been to a Christmas Eve service, you probably have some sort of feelings about the whole everyone-hold-a-candle-and-try-to-sing(possibly-in-German) thing. Also, if you haven't, you will probably not find it quite as funny, but you will probably still giggle. This is one of those blogs that makes me explode with laughter. And then forward it on to friends.
If you can't laugh at Christians (yourself or others), don't click through to these articles. If you have a good sense of humor, though, definitely go check it out.
blogging
I read a ton of blogs and I want to share them with all of you. However, I know if I did it in one big post it would be amazingly overwhelming in addition to not giving each blog it's space to shine. So, here's a new type of post! A Blog Spotlight! The first lucky blog is: "Child's Play!" mostly because she made me laugh today.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Child's Play started as a way for Tiffany to write about her new adventure into homeschooling her oldest child "The Naturalist" when traditional schooling was just not working out. Her son "The Golfer" and her youngest daughter "The Sassy Princess" (aka, Sassy) are also on the homeschooling track. I love the way they manage to bring learning into everyday activities and the surprising thirst for knowledge that they have! Today's post is what made me want to spotlight her first.

Christmas Vignettes (or How To Explain Why Santa Isn’t Bringing Lots of Presents without saying “Recession”). Head on over and just read the first few paragraphs to get an excellent feel for life in the house of "Child's Play".

Tiffany is also co-owner of Serendipity Bath Company, T&A Inc. They also blog about their soapy adventures over at Soap Chix - Serendipity Soap Dish
