| - first I got stood up at Wal*Mart waiting for someone from Craigslist - Shopped at Walmart and used lots of coupons - Finally sold my entertainment unit! - My parents came over and brought my TV over. :-D :-D :-D - Mom and I went to the gathering of the guilds sponsored by the Keystone Lacemaker's Guild. Lots of needlework, felting, spinning, lacemaking, and other awesome things. It was fun I might join one of the needlework guilds (there's 2 (or 3?) in the area). - Came back home and cleaned up a bit - Mike came over and we put together my new TV Stand (had to make a quick dash to home depot for a screw that was not included) and then we moved all the furniture around and set up the tv. - We had pizza (made with a Pillsbury crust) in the middle of the whole process. - Then we watched Zuthura on my TV. :-D I need to get a cable box with an HDMI connector and I'll be all set (other than still needing an upconverting-DVD/Bluray player. :P) - I managed to get some stupid malware that surfaced this morning and I'm still having internet problems even though I removed it (completely?). Annoying. | |

| How do you hold your fabric? With my hands most of the time. Depending on the size of the project, though, I'll use a hoop or a scroll frame.
- Floss licker? Habitually! I know it's bad, but *sniff* I can't help it!
- How do you thread your needle? By hand, but I do have one of those cheap-o threaders and I also have an automatic threader that was my grandmother's, but I almost never use them.
- What needle do you like best? I go through needles like some women go through men. :-P If I have a favorite, it usually ends up getting bent, tarnished, what-have-you.
- Are you a needle loser? I'm a needle-dropper, but I almost always find them again. Magnets are very helpful.
- What fabric do you prefer to stitch on? Any evenweave is my favorite. Every time I stitch on linen, I say I'll never do that again, but I always end up going back.
- Bobbins or floss bags? Bobbins, all the way.
- Are you a scissors collector? Nope, I just have one pair that I carry around for stitching. I have another pair in my sewing stuff in the craft room. That's it.
- Do you do your own framing, and if so, do you lace or pin? I have someone else do my framing. But if I ever do my own, I'll be doing the lacing method.
- Are you a floss floozy? Hellz yeah. :-) Thanks to a few good craigslist finds, I think I have almost every color of DMC, too. :-)
- Silk? I've never used it, but I have a feeling I'd get addicted if I did.
- Railroader? Sometimes, it depends on the project and if my floss is cooperating!
- Are you a pattern or designer snob? Not specifically, but there are some designs that I just won't waste my time doing (like, if they have no back stitching. To me backstitching makes the whole thing look better, always).
- Do you get antsy when you give someone a stitched gift? I'm usually a little nervous that they won't appreciate it or something like that.
- Have you reached S.A.B.L.E.? Not yet, but I won't need to buy anything for a while, I'm sure.
- Do you wash your projects? Always. I wash the fabric before I start, I wash any hand-dyed floss before I start (I haven't started washing and ironing DMC yet, but I'm sure the day will come), then I wash and iron when I'm finished.

| I finished my cousin's cross stitch. It's completed, washed, ironed, and ready to be taken to Michael's tomorrow morning before work. Crap, I have to find out when they open. I guess maybe I'll have to bring it later in the day. I doubt they are open at 8:30-9. And I was going to walk to work tomorrow, too. I guess I still could, but.. hm... anyway.
Hopefully they can have it framed early next week or even this weekend since I have the stuff to frame it already. YAY. Now I am totally going to sleep. I hope the haze is really gone and I am just not used to it. *zonk*

| I just went for my first walk in the park behind my apartment building. Yup, only 9 months after I moved in. Way to be. It was way shorter than I expected it to be. 7 minutes tops. Probably a bit less than 1/4 of a mile considering my walking speed. That's a very rough estimate though. It was rather enjoyable and it is pretty nice outside now (nice enough I opened a window when I got back). I still have half of my pjs on, though. They should probably go in the wash tonight. Maybe I'll do a load soon. Hm. Anyway, I've been x-stitching since about 10 this morning and making some serious progress without going completely blind.
While stitching, I've watched "The Perfect Man" (yes, Hillary Duff, but OOOH Chris Noth!), part of "Prince & Me", Gilmore Girls (Season 2, Disc 1), and now I'm watching my Seth Horan DVD. Which is rockin' and definitely sending me back in time to RIT. It's really strange how much I don't listen to music.
I'm not sure what I'm going to watch next. Probably one of the Pretender movies. I finished all 4 seasons of the show in about 3 weeks. Pretty impressive considering I've also been watching my Netflix stuff at a pretty high pace. Network shows are coming back this week (save LOST which is back on the 24th), so we'll see how that affects my viewing pace. Especially since I can't watch a DVD and record on VHS at the same time. Unless I watch DVDs on the laptop or desktop...hmm... that's an alternative!
Anyway, I'm taking a break from stitching to write this, update Liz's website, and make dinner. Which will be my first official meal of the day. Huh. I need to seriously clear out/organize the freezer. I found leftover chili in there the other day which I really don't remember making. But it must have been from the last 6 months or so. :-P It was very yummy! hehe.

| I can finally post about this now that Sarah & Joe have received it! I started this in June thinking, oh, yes, I will get it done by August - ha.ha.ha. Wasn't even close. And that doesn't count the time that it sat around waiting to be framed, and then the time it sat around waiting to be sent from the East Coast of the US to the West Coast. Sigh. I am a procrastinator! Anyway, it was sad to pack this one up since I spent so much time stitching (and frogging) this - but here are all my pictures to remember it by. :-) I need to update my cross stitch icon now! (next time I'm on my desktop, I'll have to do that) (click on a thumbnail to see a larger version) ( a whole bunch of pictures back here ) | |

| ( Beauty is.... )( Little Chick )Also, I gave my sister the "My Sister & Friend" piece that is also in my gallery.. she loves it! She is taking a non-loom fabrics course (she's an art ed major in college) and is just learning about french knots and other embrodery stitches so she was impressed with my french knots for the eyes... her teacher showed them to do french knots with 5+ times around the needle! omg! She was impressed with my once-arounds for the eyes. :-) x-posted to cross_stitch | |
