I officially have an actual TV (27", too!). YAY! However, I don't want to set it up until I have all the necessary cables and other things that I need. I don't want to have to take out the TV to change my set up later.
Here's what I need to simply watch TV:
- Composite cable with female adapters to extend the jacks on the back of the TV.
- VCR/DVD Player - I need recommendations (even just your fav brand would be helpful)!
The next step, and part of my 101things is that I want to transfer video from my VCR to my computer. Originally, I was hoping to use my camcorder as the "middleman" here, but it doesn't look like that is a possibility. So, from the looks of it, I need a either a TV Tuner card or something that can do it's job.
I'm mulling over the idea of getting one of these:

http://hauppauge.com/pages/compare/compare_pvr.htmlI'm out of PCI slots, so I'd have to take something out to put this in. Not a huge deal, because the wireless card will probably be the one to go since I've got the ethernet plugged directly into my PC at the moment, but I'm not looking forward to lots of PCI card switching.
Anyway - all recommendations and suggestions are welcome! :-)
