The Business of Being Born

I don't remember who recommended this movie (if you are here, fess up!), but it was really amazing. Pretty much anyone who is ever thinking about having a baby (that includes the men, too) or has female parts that may be used one day should see this movie.

Right now, it's on the instant viewing section of netflix. Which is why I watched it tonight because I am sans Gilmore Girls because they shipped Season 4, Disc 3 from Michigan someplace. What the.

(ps - I am not having a baby anytime soon, so don't get all worked up/excited/whatever)
(pps - there is nudity. decide how you feel about that)

I've been reading and hearing a lot about this film (ever since I started baby research last year). While in the hospital with our little one, even the nurses were talking about it. I guess we should go ahead and watch it!

BTW, is the instant viewing difficult to set up?

It took me a while to set up the first time (30 minutes what with all the restarting) and you HAVE to use IE, but your mileage may vary. It uses media player, so you have to have that installed. I don't know if it works on macs. After the initial set up, though, it's just click play and go.

I haven't heard of it. Is it like a documentary?

Something's screwy with that site.

Oh, it was not that screwy when I tried it earlier. Weird.

Anyway.

I watched the preview, so obviously I don't know specifics. But as far as the maternity ward being a business, so is medicine in general. That's why they hand you pills and make you leave regardless of why you're there. They just try to get you out soon as possible (if you ever get in). That's why I had ten medical tests and only have an outsiders understanding of the results.

I know what you mean and I do not disagree, but I couldn't help but think of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer convinces George to go to a holistic healer instead of a surgeon to fix his tonsils and the healer puts George in a pyramid helmet thing and tells Jerry that he should take cold showers and stay away from milk.

lol! That is particularly funny because I just had an allergic reaction of sorts from milk this morning. :-p
