Shop, shop

I just got back from the store and got my groceries in before it started raining. Barely. And I was almost blown away.

Anyway, I hit up Karn's (local grocery store chain) before the week's sales were over. Crackers (Wheatables, Wheat Thins, and Triscuits) were all $2 a box. SWEET! And there were coupons in the aisle for $1 off 2 Wheat Thins - which made them $1.50 each. I totally stocked up (around 20 boxes)! Also, got cool whip for $1 each, Esskay hotdogs for $1 a pound, cereal for $2 a box, pickles for $2 a jar (stackers), Nutella for $2 a jar, and some other stuff. I also got 12 packs of coke at Wal*Mart the other day for $2 each. Pretty sweet. I spent a lot, but I certainly won't have to buy crackers for about a year (by which time the price will probably be $4 a box).

I'm set for meals for a while, but I'll be sticking to finishing the frozen chicken in the freezer before I buy more meat. Maybe chop meat prices will go down by then.

What's chop meat? Chicken will probably go up in '09, because the price of feed is going up. Read it in Poultry USA at work today. :-p

How long will it take tenthz to get through TWENTY FREAKIN' BOXES of Wheat Thins? I am totally aghast. Where do you even store such a quantity? Did you buy the whole shelf?

I admit, that is a very nice price. Cheaper than milk! -- they say.

5 boxes of triscuits are for Mike (he makes awesome triscuit pizzas). I eat crackers and cheese for lunch when I don't have any leftovers around and I don't want a PBJ. I think I go through a box every 3-4 weeks just by myself. These will hopefully last me the next year or so depending on how many crackers-and-cheese parties I have. :-) And they are all good until the end of 2009 or sometime 2010, so no worries about them going bad.

Ooh, do you ever put little pieces of cheese on them and then microwave it for 20-30 seconds? Mmmmm! Now I have a craving. Can I come over?

Yes! Using grated cheese helps it melt better. Mike adds a slice of pepperoni to each one and VIOLA! Triscuit pizzas. Dip them in tomato sauce and you're set. :-D

You are always welcome to visit. :-)
