I am woman, hear me roar!

I am an awesome 1930s housewife, and I'm:

Are you a feminist?
Your Result: There is a strong feminist inside you! Let it out!

You are concerned about women's rights but feel uneasy taking an active role as a feminist. You feel uneasy calling yourself a feminist because you don't want the labels that come with it. You are proud of the steps women have taken to achieve what they have so far but feel that the worst is over. You have not realized yet the psychological role that society plays in degrading women in today's age where women are more inclined to turn against eachother for the affections of a guy when they don't realize that in actuality, they are constantly in competition with one another because that is how society has made it. You are on the right track but there are still so many things you need to become aware of!

You are a full blooded feminist!
You are being held back by society's constrictions
Are you a misogynist!?
Are you a feminist?

lol! How you can be a 1930's housewife and have feminist tendencies is beyond me. There must be some confliction in your mind.

No, not really. Quite the opposite, i think.

Huh. A lot of the later feminist movement came from trying to break down the boundaries that 'defined' a 1930's housewife, who didn't have a choice but to stay in the house and cater to her husbands every need.

True, however, part of being a strong female is that now we are given the CHOICE to do whatever we want. And if part of that is enjoying throwing parties, hosting guests, and having a healthy relationship, along with a strong career, I don't see how that can be a bad thing.

Didn't think of it that way. Although, I think our idea of a 'party' is probably somewhat different than the 1930's party. Just a random thought.

Also, I think it depends how one defines a 'healthy' relationship. Admitedly I sped through that quiz. But the idea in my head of a '1930's relationship' is where the woman does what the husband wants and his needs always come first, and imho anyway, that isn't health n'our days.

I don't think being devoted to your spouse could ever go out of style.
Jul. 22nd, 2008 02:31 pm (UTC)
Being devoted, no. Cow-towing to their every whim (especially if they don't in return), yes.

Yay. Knew we'd agree eventually.

Your Result: You are a full blooded feminist!

You believe in women's rights all the way and continue to be unhappy with the way things are right now and wish for more change. You are willing to take part in marches, boycotts and meetings that involve the amelioration of women's issues. You realize that society views feminists negatively but still are proud to call yourself one. You are appalled to see women who don't have a clue that "gender" is simply a term which the definition is 100% man made. If you feel a comment is sexist or makes you uncomfortable you speak up on it! You are always aiming to help others become aware of how much further women need to go and how society restricts them and predetermines their roles. You hate that feminists are so devided in themselves and believe that only if they are unified can they make a difference. We need more of you!

This quiz is a joke. I am not a feminist.
