a thought: How about I do java script on the side menu so that when you click on the link, a javascript function executes a document.writeln so that the server-side include is put into the main part of the page. That would work and would be really cool...
I just have to figure out how to get the side menu to change, also.. I could do it ALL with javascript... but then I wouldn't have "20 linked" pages... are server-side includes considered linked pages? I should e-mail henderson. I'll do that now since I obviously can't sleep... I have to be up in like 5 hours.

Well I'm not sure exactly how you're going to implement this because you weren't very specific, but I want to make sure you understand the difference between server-side includes and client-side javascript. Specifically, that one happens before the other. SSI instructions are processed by the server before the page reaches the client. Javascript can add another SSI instruction after that point if it wants to, but there is no server to actually process it.

But I trust that you're aware of this and had something else in mind, just weren't specific about it. :)
