you crazy!

It's a good idea, but if it were me giving up something like AIM, I would skip the small stuff and just give up sanity. :P Move into a cave and become a nude hermit. Since my life is AIM-centric.

haha *oozes pathetic dorkiness* :P

from one aim-addict who tried it, to another, i can say that it doesn't work as well as you'd think it does. at least for me personally, i don't know people's phone numbers, so for group projects / club meetings / whatnot, it's damn tough to make it work unless you see the people you need to talk to. ;)
But maybe I'm just weak! :P

yeah...
for me, giving up AIM would basically mean giving up my only reliable connection to a bunch of my friends. suckiness, that.

You might want to do something else
Pump king Od is right, AIM has alot of practical uses. If you're trying to reduce the idleness AIM invites you might be better off tactfully limiting it's use, like using away messages when you're working, or not being signed-on in class. As the odd pumpk-ing one said nobody communicates by phone anymore. Or if you really want to reduce idleness you can give up procrastination.

AIM is a good form of communication. Besides the Phone, AIM is my primary means of communication.

I suggest well, keeping aim!
