Re: Classes
Someone got an lj.....

Actually, I like my schedule... only 16 credits for once... and a few fun things thrown in there for extra measure. :-)

Could you? Yes.....

Will they let you? No. You don't have the prereqs. It's a 500 level class.

I took it last winter. If someone desperately wanted to take it (and I don't see why they would), they should probably talk to Professor Vullo about it and demonstrate that they know what they are doing when it comes to programming, have a decent amount of HTML experience, and have a marginal familiarity with UNIX commands.

That having said, I found the course anything BUT useful. Ron Vullo agrees with me that the class should have more of a focus. You'll learn tiny snippets of Perl, PHP, cron, XML, and SOAP - and you'll use the stuff that you learn in PHP, then immediately forget the rest. I needed it for my web programming concentration, but really got nothing out of it due to the lack of focus on one or two languages. Though it's extremely easy for anyone who already knows what they are doing when it comes to programming.

Hope that helped a bit, or at least dampened your spirits :) There was some fun stuff in the class; it was just extremely trivial to me.

I don't have to... so nyah :P

actually the only IT courses I have left are network based MM (which I'm taking in the spring for the last course in my concentration), tech transfer, and 341 which I'm also taking in the spring.

But if you convince Rick Stone to teach it, I'll reconsider.
