Words that have double-Us.

Okay, for the longest time (as a child) I was told that the only word in the English language that had "uu" in it was "vacuum". This is a lie. There are more!! The goal is to find them all. Here's what I've come up with so far. Please add to the list!

Vacuum - it sucks
Continuum - succession, or whole, no part of which can be distinguished from neighboring parts except by arbitrary division
Triduum - the scared 72 hour period between sunset on Holy Thursday to sunset on Easter Sunday

According to AskOxford.com, the fourth word is menstruum, which means:

A solvent, especially one used in extracting compounds from plant and animal tissues and preparing drugs.

My /usr/share/dict/words says...
$ grep -i uu words
continuum
vacuum
vacuumed
vacuuming

Continuum is generally spelt that way on the other side of the pond. And well, Triduum is one of those Christian things.

when I was in 5th grade, my raging bitch of an English teacher told us that words will never have more that 2 vowels in a row.

needless to say, she's a moron.

...Maybe she said more than 3 in a row. But I swear to god I've come across words that did. Real ones. And I remember thinking "that dumb bitch, this word breaks her rule"

You're supposed to hyphenate words that have more than two letters in a row(since they're actually compound words). But sometimes that doesn't happen, and you get words like beeeater.

Triduum
What really threw me was "the 'scared' 72 hour period". All sorts of weird thoughts raced around my brain until I realized you meant "sacred"!!!!!! K
