Last night

Rehearsal went extremely well. 2nd dress rehearsal of 3. Thursday we have previews and Friday we open. Holy Moly.

Last night it was POURING (except for the 2 minutes when we had to walk around the building in our costumes. *yea*)...flash flood warnings and such. The most beautiful lightning I've ever seen. And heavy rain. Actually, the rain itself wasn't so bad, the part that was bad was that the water has no place to go once it hits 63.
Earlier in the evening, I told Bret I could take him home... it's only about 15 minutes out of my way, and saves his parents the 30 minute round trip, so no biggie... but by 10:30 when we finished, I was sorta regretting it... I just wanted to get home and as quickly and as safely as possible. It was hard to tell how each section of the road was going to handle the rainfall and going north of the theatre didn't seem that bad. Dropped Bret off and turned around to go home. I have to see if there is a faster way to get home from there without just going back to 63, but anyway. South of the theatre the road was worse.. hard to see the lines on the road and the street lamps were only making matters worse by reflecting light off the water in weird ways... Got past the WalMart and saw some flashing lights up ahead by the construction. At first, I was trying to figure out why in the world they would be working at night... when I realized it was a cop car, I was thinking there was an accident on the other side of the road. It was at this point that I looked to the right and there was a very large pond there instead of the side of the road, the water was creeping up into the lane and I swerved to the left a bit so I didn't run right through it... it was after I was past there that I realized there was a black sedan in the middle of the pond. And all you could see was the top 3/4ths of the windows... very scary since it looked like Trista's car and she would have had to come through the same spot probably 20 minutes before... (luckily, it wasn't and Trista was home safely) And if I hadn't dropped Bret home, I would have been there and not been alerted by any flashing lights. Scary.

So, the moral of the story is, Bret saved my life. :-P
