I'll post something. Yesterday was Albert's birthday and he had a great and totally awesome day. Liz made him a 10-foot banner that said "Happy 12th Birthday Albert" on it and taped it to the side of the bus, so that when he got out of school, it was one of the first things he saw. On top of that, a bunch of high school kids started chanting "ALBERT ALBERT!" and they let him sit in the back of the bus with him! When he got off the bus, they all yelled "Happy Birthday, Albert!" and I could hear them from the house! (if you've been to my house, you realize how impressively loud they were.) He was so happy. We went bowling, and after we made mom and dad stop picking on our "techniques", we had a lot of fun. We went to BK for a quick dinner so that Albert could use the Free Birthday Kids Meal coupon that he got in the mail. After we got home, Albert opened his presents and he got an awesome collapsible fishing pole and a fishing trip to go with it from my parents and they are going to take him shopping for hiking boots and a backpacking backpack for Boy Scouts stuff. I got him a compass (it floats!) and a super cool Nalgene. Liz got him a surfer-dude choker/necklace and wrote him a beautiful card that she made herself. We had ice cream cake and it was yummy.
