For some reason I'm really tired. Worn out, really... I fell asleep a few times in Computer Concepts class... if Professor Stone couldn't keep my attention, something is definitely wrong. :-/ I need a good night of serious sleep. I woke up this morning with a sore throat and my neck hurts. Blah.. .I drank so much OJ today... I should go get more... It's a great palcebo... But, I don't know. Grrrr... what month is it? I"M NOT GETTING SICK!!!

I'm done complaining now.

Sore throat? Lack of energy? Really tired? Neck hurts?

That's not good. I had the same problem start of this quarter. Went to see the doctor (check ups are covered in tuition, but not lab testing) and it turned out I had mono (and later I found out I had strept throat).

If it starts getting worse, do go to the Student Health Center. They CAN help and I mean in a BIG way too. Also, check to see if you feel any bumps on the back of your neck. They could be swollen lymph nodes, and if they're swollen on the back of the neck, then you could be in real trouble there.

Take care of yourself. I don't want you getting as sick as I did, especially this late in the quarter (cause it can REALLY smart)

Re: ?
It's probably just a cold... BUT like Steve said.. a trip to the SHC will at least rule out mono or strep. They'll yell at you because they think you're seeking antibiotics which they WON'T give anybody... but its good to know when it's just a cold and when it's worse... I've had a stuffy nose for over a week now.. started out with a sore throat.

Re: ?
I think the bugs are evolving faster than our immune systems can adapt. :) It used to be that a bug would last 3 or 4 days... or a week at the very most. Anything longer would have a name. But these days people get a sore throat for a week, a stuffy nose the next, runny nose for 2 weeks, a cough for a few days somewhere in there... which gradually moves through the spectrum from dry to productive... and it's still just called a bug. Blah.

Don't be too sure.
I wouldn't count on the not giving you anti-biotics part. Once the tests came back positive for strept, they gave me some penicillin to take right away, prescription and all.

By the time I was done though, my throat was feeling much better.

Re: Don't be too sure.
Well yeah... if you come out positive for something... usually though its just a cold and they tell you to go home and rest and come back in a week if you don't feel any better. Which sucks for me because I always wait 2 weeks before I go... and then I'm like, well if I came in a week ago you'd have told me the come back in a week and it would have BEEN a week now...
