Writing Lab

They always help me with Grammer and stuff, but I always feel that they have lower standards than I do! I miss Mrs. Singer! No one could mark up my papers like she could... Lindsay comes in a close second, but.... oh well... she liked my Core Plane paper... I hope Stone likes it, too. :-P

Feelings of superiority
I know what you mean. You go to get help, you talk to the people, and after a while of going over the problem or situation, you realize that you feel like you really know more than this person and don't think you need their help. I get the same kind of feeling sometimes when doing Physics labs. Such as, "No, no, no! you're measuring it all wrong!" or then some. The lab reports and level of cooperativeness in them is sometimes tough because you have to figure out who does what. And if the partner doesn't actually BELIEVE they can do it, then that makes it even tougher. :)

I loved my frosh year English Composition prof. (before that and the literature courses were combined.) She was so nice about everything, proofread our papers, and let us re-submit them up to the 9th week of the quarter to improve our grades.

I would turn in a "C" worthy paper... then get it back, fully proofread and corrected, make the changes, then turn it in for an A. She rocked.

To this I would like to say:
Ha, HA! You know not what a composition course is like! The composition course I had in High School prepared me for the rest of my writing life. It was(and still is) the most difficult class I've ever taken. No one here has ever graded a paper as rigorously as Mrs. Singer did... and I my writing skills improved drastically over the year... and then over the summer they went away again... but I haven't been challenged like that since.
That's all.

You know...
You know, as a matter of fact, my writing skills have improved incredibly after I started doing more and more on message boards of all kinds. I get to witness poor spelling and mistakes of others, write on topics that interest me and keep me thinking about that which I like, and of course, builds my typing skills to nearly Master level skill. Of course, if I have the right keyboard though. Just as different cars have different feels, so do different keyboards. (next thing you know, my keyboard will have decals and a nitro infusion button presser)

All in all, my writing skills have come far more than what I expected. Every time I have writing assignments, they always seem to come back with incredible grades this year. It surprises me because I remember having some trouble last year in my English class. Although I did take two that year. World and Brit Lit 1 & 2 (for both semesters of the year) and Satire (a great class! It helps me better recognize sarcasm, although I still need work on that. ;) )

Now if I can only stop crushing my hand and scraping my fingers, then I'll be able to type without band-aids again. Although it does make for interesting handicaps. There's also the one handed typist, for when one hand is typing and the other is covered in cheese stuff from Cheetos and Doritos. (Cooler Ranch Doritos also do this) That way, you can snack and type at a good speed. I still need to practice this though. Don't have chips enough of the time.

Need chips.

Hmm....

Off to the Store.

:Door closes:
