Hummelstown Community Singers started up again! I worked until 6:15 and then drove to the Soda Jerk in Hummelstown where I met Mike for dinner. Yummy food as usual. One of the few places in the area where you can get a real vanilla coke. mmmm... vanilla coke.
At Singers, we sang through about 17 songs that they had picked out. All Christmas music! *yea* for Christmas music in September! :-D That makes me happy. Some of the songs are really awesome, some are so-so, and some are OMG-THIS-BETTER-GET-CUT. More of the former 2 than the latter, though. Good times, we were done early and then Mike and I stood and chatted in the parking lot for a while.
I got home what used to be "regular time" which is around 5pm. We actually sat down and had dinner as a family before I had to leave to go to Palmyra to get my oil changed before my voice lesson. I got some stitching done while I was waiting. I left a bit too much time between my lesson and the oil change, so that when they were finished with my car, there was too little time to go home, but too much time to just go straight there. I finally decided that I would take my stitching in and wait in Roger's waiting room. sure... if I could find a parking space! Geez. I ended up driving around for a good 15 minutes looking for a space that I could a) fit my car into and b) not hit anyone with my huge car. My buick is not good for city parking! *le sigh* Finally found something on the street where I usually park. I was exactly 30 minutes early, so I got to listen to the lesson before me. It's interesting to listen to someone else take direction. Lesson itself was good. I always wonder how evident it is that I don't practice. :-P BAD CATHERINE! Anyway, I think I made a lot of progress with my warm-ups and Roger managed not to laugh his way through my song with the funny lyrics. :-P He thinks I have a chance to make it to the finals in the NATS competion in November. Interesting. Got home after that and watched Without a Trace with Mom and Albert. Played on the computer and then went to bed.
