How about that...

So I'm really enjoying reading Catcher in the Rye so far... I can see why mass murders are found with a copy of it in their pocket.. it's kinda disturbing, but only if you think outside of the main character... if you just focus on his thoughts and mussing... it seems semi-normal... should be interesting, I'm only on the 5th chapter or so.

In other news, there are(were?) raging fires in Quebec... 900 miles from here... yesterday, a girl that I work with collapsed from a major asthma attack... People with lung problems are being advised to stay indoors as much as possible... also, today was of very high UV rating... I'm surprised Choc. World wasn't busier than we were... whatever.

Fire works from last night were post-poned because of the smoke... Tonight!

ugh, Catcher in the Rye. :: makes sign to ward off evil :: I had to read it in 11th grade english class. At the time I was even more optimistic and idealistic than I am now. I just couldn't stand Holden or his attitude toward things. He's so negative about everything. It drove me nuts and managed to make me really really really annoyed at him.

But since I'm not quite so optimistic anymore . . . come to think of it, I'm not really all that optimistic at all anymore. If I read it again it might be barable, but I don't think I could ever actually enjoy it. :-p

Yeah, he is really negative... but I'm still enjoying it... I'm starting to wish that it wasn't a library book so that I could underline the good passages. :-)
